PROJECT PROFILE

Owner: General Services Administration
Architect: General Services Administration
Services: General Contractor

Dunlop & Johnston was the general contractor for the new Federal Courthouse in Youngstown, Ohio. Located in the heart of the downtown, the project posed several challenges during the construction period. Staging and lay-down areas were at a premium, requiring an acute emphasis on site planning and coordination. The building was built to house the courtrooms and office for two federal judges and one congressman. As such, safety and security of the structure and its employees was at the forefront resulting in some of the most technologically advanced safety and security systems known at the time.
