Project Details
The project’s main focus was the renovation of the 26 x 40 rehabilitation pool located in the basement of the Louis Stokes VA Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. While the structure remained intact, all of its finishes were stripped and replaced as part of this work. Constructed in the 1960’s, the structure of the pool had an outer concrete shell with a deep mud bed, typical of construction in that period. The demolition process removed the mud bed, replacing it with a modern waterproofing system providing a longer lifespan for the pool. Converting from an old system of construction to a new also facilitated a new updated tile pattern.
